So its the launch of the new Walkabout community website and well I dont know about you guys but we here at Edinburgh are excited! You might be asking yourself why? You have just created another social networking site similar to the millions already out there. Why should anyone be excited by something that has essentially been around for the last 5 years? Well I will tell you why.

For years now a lot of our competitors have been claiming they have been the pioneers of the bar trade by giving you what you want when you want it. Everyone has been shouting from the roof tops about how great they are and why everyone should be patronising there venues, well I genuinely think a lot of these buisnesses have been a lot of talk and very little real action. Resting on there laurels whilst all the time not changing with the market and offering the same product they did 5-10 years ago.

Here at Walkabout however we arent really ones for blowing our own trumpets, but really I feel we have every reason too.For many years now we have trialled different and dynamic ways of giving you the best product possible. In 2007 we launched the Boomerang discount card, we gave a unheard of 25% discount across the board and 3 years later it is still one of the best offers on the high street today. We have just launched our new Boomerang card for 2010/2011 and whilst we were the only one a few years back, now we have countless clones from our competitors, trying to keep up with us.

Walkabout was the first chain to really invest in HD and 3D technology and although still in its infacy we can really see the major hollywood studios and sky televisions commitment too it. As this becomes cheaper and more available to buy at home,I will always remember that we were amongst the first to  invest in this. TO really say the public wants it so the public will get it.

That then brings me to the here and now, the new Walkabout community. We here at Walkabout feel your not only our customers, but our friends as well. The new website really confirms this as there is no better way for you to tell us what you want, and if we can do it we will deliver and in this we really are the first. The community will offer you rewards and special benefits for being a part of our family. We will say thank you for giving us your buisness.
